Here it is! 2010 WHSH in all its glory.

Hello Friends!  We are having a terribly exciting week here at IDA, and for those of you tuning in via the web, we would all like to extend a hot and sweaty hello to you all!  We wish you were here.

A lot is happening here at IDA this week and we can’t express enough how satisfying and inspiring it is to walk the paths and see everyone working together to improve the land and it’s facilities for all of our collective use.  Right now, as I type, years of VHS footage found in a front house office clean-out is getting digitized by Lex at the NEW laptop bar, photographs from the past 17 years are being scanned and archived by Killer on IDA’s new harddrive, on their new desktop PC and Eli is cleaning and dusting all the bookshelves.  The kitchen steps are being rebuilt by Sofi and Bea, Sandy’s tempeh is roasting in the kitchen, Matilda’s delivering fresh eggs to the cellar and a whole slew of people are busy busy busy all around!

Teo went out into the field this morning with a camera and a notebook to check on all the crews and see what they would like to report to the outside world.

Electrix Crew has installed functional electrical service to the back barn this week.  “Two hots, a neutral and a ground.”

The Childcare Crew has been busy baby wranglin’, and who better to trust your little bundles of joy with than Regrette?

The Health Care crew has a variety of things to cure what ails you; from herbal preparations, a licensed nurse practitioner, acupuncturists and massage therapists.

Trash Crew, which has been renamed as Reclamation Crew, has been busy sorting through various “junk”, selling it and making us a bunch of money!  And, with that money, they are building a new trash shed and installing new dumpsters for trash and recycling.

And really, the food has been beyond everyone’s wildest expectations!  Everyone here was delivered bag lunches yesterday which included a homemade dulce de leche brownie.  Holy crap!

A new field over the bridge has been cleared by the Yucca Field and a brand spankin’ new “Two Person Rock ‘N’ Roll Shitter” is being built!

In addition to the new shitter, a three person, PRIVATE, solar shower is being built.

The bridge to the Yucca Field has been widened and a sturdy handrail installed!

And so much more is happening, it’s really unbelievable.  The office crew has been busy documenting the entire event and you can check out more photos as they arrive on our Flickr page!

We wish you were here!
